MEET OUR STAFF

Dan Young - Senior Pastor

Dr. Dan Young joined Calvary's staff as Senior Pastor in August 2010.  He is a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University and Biblical Theological Seminary. 

Dan has a passion for turn-around ministries and wrote his doctoral dissertation on the turnaround church.  He has been in  pastoral ministry for more than 30 years, spending 27 of those years in a single church in Doylestown, PA.  

Dan and his wife Emily have a passion for missions and have participated in short-term trips to Fiji, Cameroon, Senegal, the Philippines, France, Turkey, and Switzerland. 

The Young’s have 4 adult children:  Joshua, Ruth, Jonathan, and Andrew.

Dan enjoys teaching church leadership classes and courses at local colleges and seminaries.  He also consults with churches that are potential turn-around ministries.  His hobbies include sports (especially baseball), reading, running, and travel.

Matt McAlack – Pastor of Youth and Outreach

Matt McAlack has degrees from Philadelphia Biblical University, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Temple University. He and his wife, Michele, have three sons. The mission of their lives is to develop young leaders for the church of Jesus Christ. They love teenagers and enjoy hanging out. They love the beach, sports, and spending time in the outdoors. The McAlack’s have a special burden for the youth in Northern Ireland and the people in the Gentilly section of New Orleans and have led mission trips to both places several times. Matt and Michele both work full-time at PBU and serve part-time at Calvary.

Jayson Hernandez - Worship Leader

Jayson joined the staff as Worship Director of Calvary Baptist in January 2012.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Philadelphia Biblical University.  Jayson has been leading worship in different churches since 2003 and was an associate pastor at this previous church.  He was raised in Mexico and his first language is Spanish.  Jayson also works part-time with a sports mission organization and travels with them many times during the year to Latin American countries.

Carolyn - Office Manager

Carolyn and her husband Bob have been attending Calvary since 1987.  Carolyn has enjoyed being the office manager since 1994.  Their family includes three children and four adorable grandchildren living in Iowa and Ohio

Christian - Custodian

Christian has been a part of Calvary Baptist Church since November, 2007.  He enjoys being part of the ministries here at the church as well as spending time with his wife and family.  He is currently studying to complete his TESL certification at PBU with the plan of teaching overseas once he has completed his education.
